Downloading & Printing Your QR Code
After creating your QR code, download it in the right format for your use case.
Formats
| Format | Type | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| SVG | Vector, 300 DPI | Print — business cards, posters, packaging, signs |
| PNG | Raster, transparency | Digital — websites, social media, email signatures |
| JPG | Raster, compressed | Digital — general-purpose, smaller file size |
Rule of thumb: Print = SVG. Digital = PNG.
Downloading
- Finish the creation wizard, or select an existing code from the dashboard.
- Click Download.
- Choose PNG, SVG, or JPG.
You can re-download any code at any time.
Print guidelines
Size — Minimum 2 cm x 2 cm (0.8 x 0.8 in) for close-range scanning. Increase proportionally for longer scanning distances.
Quiet zone — Leave a clear margin around the code, at least 4 modules wide. Don't crowd it with text or graphics.
Contrast — Dark modules on a light surface. Avoid reflective, textured, or patterned backgrounds.
Material — Matte finishes scan better than glossy (less glare). Flat surfaces are ideal; curved surfaces can distort the code.
Outdoor use — Use weather-resistant materials or coatings.
Testing before print
- Scan on both iOS and Android with native camera apps and third-party scanners.
- Print a test copy at final size and scan from the expected distance.
- Verify the destination URL is correct.
- If the code will be in dim lighting or on a curved surface, test under those conditions.
Since QRelix codes are dynamic, you can fix a destination issue after printing without reprinting the code.
